Water bath canning process has been done for more than hundreds of years, started from individual home canner where people just use simple way and equipment available to preserve their precious food, up to larger scale of canned fruit manufacturers and fabrics. These larger scale of canner use much more way advance method and process, but they do share the same basic principal of water bath canner process with individual home canner.

The equipments needed for doing your own water bath canning are actually very simple and should not spend so much efforts when people need to do it themselves at home. Unfortunately, not much book and information revealed on how step-by-step in doing this. What most important is, beside the jar to put the preserved food, is the pot made out of either stainless steel or ceramic covered steel that is deep enough to sink the glass jar at least 2 inch from the boiling water surface.
With the right way and process, water bath canning can definitely be a good home made food preservation method for people to do it themselves for their own family. This way, we can save food and not much waste for those can’t be finished at one time consumption.
